Situated at 1,800 metres above sea level, Galtür’s Silvapark awaits climbers with beginner-friendly friction plates, technical cracks and overhanging roofs. You have never tried bouldering? Then it’s about time! Galtür’s amazing Silvapark is situated at the foot of Ballunspitze mountain and boasts eight different sections. With more than 160 tours for all skill levels and the 8c Anam Cara boulder highlight, Silvapark is a fascinating playground for boulderers of all ages – topped off with breathtaking views of the Silvretta mountain range!

The children’s boulder park of Galtür is a great place to make your first climbing experiences and show off your courage, strength and skills. All the little ones need for their first secured climbing adventure are climbing shoes!

The Sektensektor section features numerous highballs (boulders tall enough for a fall to have a high potential of injury) and traverses, but also plenty of easy terrain and boulder problems for all skill levels. The Sektensektor section can easily and quickly be reached from the mountain station of Birkhahnbahn cable car.

The Anam Cara is the perfect section for hardcore boulder fans. With a grade of 8c, this boulder is the most challenging one in the whole of Tyrol – only the most advanced climbers will be able to master it!

The highlight of the shorter “Schuh des Manitu” section is the 7a+ Squa Man. From most of the short boulders you have an excellent view of the Kops reservoir.

The Super Crack is the section with the most boulders, most of them with intermediate difficulty levels. A great section for climbing fans who love highballs and traverses!

Although there’s no beach to be found here, you get an impressive sea of rocks. The “Palm Beach” section features various different boulders of all difficulty levels. The highlight: the Memento, one of the world’s most difficult tours.

Silvapark‘s “Golden Gate” section is characterized by a high rock density and plenty of 7b and 8b highlights. As the terrain is very rocky, we recommend using two crash pads, except for blocks two, six and eight, where one crash pad should be enough.

With its long approach, the 2,300-metre “Falsche Götter” section boasts splendid views of the Paznaun region and Vorarlberg’s Montafon valley. Expect a high-alpine climbing atmosphere and difficulty levels of up to 8a+!

The “Outlands” section is a real classic and a hotspot for climbers used to 7c routes. For the higher blocks, an additional crash pad might be useful.

Located at the foot of Ballunspitze at 2,000 metres above sea level, Galtür’s Silvapark is a unique boulder area. A total of eight sections and 160 boulders offer climbing fun for guests of all ages.

The facts:

  • wall height: 2 – 10 metres
  • exposure: north-facing
  • rock: primary rock
  • best time: end of June – October

You can find everything from easy (4) to extremely difficult routes (8) there, including short beginner’s boulders as well as technical cracks and roof overhangs. With a difficulty of 8c, “Anam Cara” is one of the most difficult boulders at Silvapark – a challenge only few climbers dare to tackle.

  • Bouldering is all about caution and respect for others. Always keep an eye on fellow boulderers!
  • If possible, stick to marked paths and footways to get to the route entrances.
  • It’s prohibited to remove any hand or footholds. Don’t make any modifications to the existing rock structure! 
  • Please don’t leave your waste in the park but dispose of it properly and sorted down in the valley or at the car park of Ballunspitz cable car.
  • Wild camping is prohibited in the entire Silvapark area. Because of fire hazard, open fires are not allowed. Sanitary facilities can be found at the valley station of Ballunspitzbahn cable car and the mountain station of Birkhahnbahn cable car.
  • Please respect other climbers at the car park, at the children’s boulder park and on the boulders and use headphones when listening to loud music.

There are two ways to access the different sections:

Access I:

  • via Alpkogelbahn cable car (15-minute ride)
  • The car park is situated right next to Birkhahnbahn valley station.
  • free day parking

Access II:

  • via Ballunspitzbahn cable car
  • paid parking at Ballunspitzbahn valley station

  • Camping is prohibited in the entire car park as well as in the area surrounding the cable car station.

Please note: The entire car park as well as the entrance gates are under CCTV surveillance. 

Yes! Crash pads and climbing shoes can be rented from Intersport Wolfart against a fee.

Rental prices per day:

  • crash pads: € 8
  • climbing shoes: € 6

There are two free crash pads at the beginners’ section near the cable car.
