Whether it’s by car, bus, train or airplane: It’s up to you how you want to get to the Paznaun valley. Either way, getting there is easy and hassle-free. Let’s go!
Travelling to the Paznaun valley by train and bus is comfortable and climate-friendly. The good news: Thanks to the train station Landeck-Zams, the Paznaun is perfectly connected to the railway network. From there, you can catch bus number 260 straight to your holiday resort.
For train connections, please consult the website of the Federal Austrian Railways (ÖBB), German Railways (DB), Swiss Railways (SBB). For instance, how about taking the extra convenient Nightjet night train?
Tip: There is an ÖBB Rail & Drive car sharing location at Landeck-Zams station. All information and prices can be found here.
In the PDF you will find a route network of the numerous railway connections to our nearest railway station Landeck-Zams.
From Landeck-Zams station, there’s only a short bus ride between you and the slopes. Simply take Bus No. 260 which leaves the train station towards the Paznaun region every hour. During the ride you have plenty of time to enjoy the view of the stunning mountain scenery!
By the way: Of course, you can also take a taxi from Landeck-Zams station. The local taxi companies are happy to take you from all nearby railway stations and airports to Galtür, Ischgl, Kappl and See.
To drive on Austrian motorways, you need a toll sticker. You can either buy a sticker right at the border or from a local tobacconist (valid for ten days, two months or one year) or get a digital toll sticker online. By the way: Additional charges apply for the Arlberg tunnel!
During traffic jams, drivers on Austrian motorways are required to form an emergency corridor. To do so, drivers in the left lane keep left, while all others pull all the way over to the right (including the service lane).
For up-to-the minute traffic information check out the ÖAMTC traffic service.
Between November and April, cars must be equipped with winter tyres in Austria. Depending on weather conditions, snow chains may be necessary as well. After all, from time to time snow can even occur in summer in the Paznaun!
In addition, it is mandatory to have one high-visibility vest per person on board.
If you arrive by plane, the nearest airport is Innsbruck. From there, simply take the bus, train or taxi to your holiday resort in the Paznaun.
Your holiday advisors at the Paznaun - Ischgl Tourist Office will be happy to help you!
