Your bags are packed and you’re ready to go? Then what are you waiting for? The Paznaun region awaits you with glorious nature, lively villages and impressive sights!
Whether it’s by car, bus, train or airplane: It’s up to you how you want to get to the Paznaun valley. Either way, getting there is easy and hassle-free. Let’s go!
To drive on Austrian motorways, you need a toll sticker. You can either buy a sticker right at the border or from a local tobacconist (valid for ten days, two months or one year) or get a digital toll sticker online. By the way: Additional charges apply for the Arlberg tunnel!
During traffic jams, drivers on Austrian motorways are required to form an emergency corridor. To do so, drivers in the left lane keep left, while all others pull all the way over to the right (including the service lane).
For up-to-the minute traffic information check out the ÖAMTC traffic service.
Between November and April, cars must be equipped with winter tyres in Austria. Depending on weather conditions, snow chains may be necessary as well. After all, from time to time snow can even occur in summer in the Paznaun! In addition, it is mandatory to have one high-visibility vest per person on board..
Travelling to the Paznaun valley by train and bus is comfortable and climate-friendly. The good news: Thanks to the train station in Landeck, the Paznaun is perfectly connected to the Austrian railway network. From there, you can catch bus number 260 straight to your holiday resort.
Our tip: Guests of the Paznaun region use the bus from Landeck to Paznaun for free.
