TOURISM GAMES BY ISCHGL 2026
The Tourism Games by Ischgl are an innovative competition for young talents in tourism. In an exciting triathlon – consisting of the disciplines cooking, barkeeping and marketing – young participants compete in teams of five to complete set tasks in their respective categories.
The event is aimed at talents from tourism businesses and tourism schools in Austria, South Tyrol, Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg. Participation is open to young people aged between 16 and 30 who wish to demonstrate their creativity, skills and ability to work in a team. Each team is accompanied by a supervisor. A top-class jury of leading figures from Tyrol’s tourism industry, renowned educational institutions as well as award-winning chefs evaluates the teams’ performances.
In addition to the competition itself, the programme offers special experiences: a welcome evening, culinary highlights in Ischgl’s award-winning restaurants, and the festive awards ceremony with aftershow party provide unforgettable moments.
The first two editions of the Tourism Games by Ischgl were a resounding success, showcasing the passion and potential of the next generation in tourism. And there is already something to look forward to: in April 2026, the third edition of this special event will take place.
The participation fee of 75 euros per person (supervisors free of charge) includes:
- 2 overnight stays in Ischgl
- first-class catering at the welcome evening
- exclusive dinner in one of Ischgl’s award-winning Restaurants
- aftershow party with special drinks and a lively atmosphere
The exact date will be announced shortly. Stay tuned!
All information at a glance
13 – 14 April 2026
Around four weeks before the start of the triathlon, all participating teams receive a detailed briefing and the respective shopping baskets for their category. These serve as a central basis for preparation and contain all relevant information, specifications and ingredients to enable teams to prepare specifically for the competition.
In the cooking category, the focus is on food preparation. The specific task is determined by the items contained in the shopping basket. The performances are judged by a high-calibre panel of experts. The evaluation takes into account aspects such as time management, creativity, appearance, taste, preparation and technical competence.
The bartending category is dedicated to cocktail preparation. Here, too, the tasks and conditions are based on the contents of the shopping basket. The evaluation by a high-calibre jury takes into account factors such as time management, technique, creativity, aroma and taste.
In the marketing category, teams present a concept they have developed in advance on one of the tourism topics specified in the briefing. Presentations must be prepared before the actual competition day. Suitable rooms are available on the competition day for minor adjustments or practice. The jury evaluates the presentations based on criteria such as time management, understanding of the target group, creative approaches, feasibility, presentation and specialist knowledge.
On the day before the competition, 13 April, all teams will meet with their team supervisors for a welcome evening at Fire & Ice Ischgl. The event will start at 6 p.m. In a relaxed atmosphere, participants will receive the most important information about the competition and the organisational framework for the following day. During the evening, it will also be announced in which of Ischgl's award-winning restaurants the individual teams will have their dinner together the next day.
Each participant and their respective team supervisor will receive a lift pass, which will ensure the necessary mobility in the ski area on the day of the competition (14 April). This will enable them to reach the respective venues for their own category and to accompany or cheer on other teams.
14 April will be all about the competition. The competitions in the three categories will take place at different locations in Ischgl. The specific venues and timetable will be announced in good time before the event and during the welcome evening.
On the evening of 14 April, all teams will meet at 7 p.m. in their respective restaurants for dinner together. The award ceremony will follow at around 10 p.m. in the Champagner Club. Attractive prizes await the participating teams. The triathlon will then come to an end with an after-show party.

The Tourism Games by Ischgl show appreciation for young talent in tourism. The event creates visibility for young talent, promotes exchange and motivation, and contributes to strengthening tourism as an attractive career field – especially against the backdrop of a shortage of skilled workers.
A special feature of the Tourism Games is the joint competition between school pupils, apprentices and already trained professionals, who come together in one format, learn from each other and promote exchange across training and career boundaries.
