Summer has really taken hold here. Sweating is widespread, and even heat thunderstorms bring little or only temporary relief from the heat. A so-called “Omega high,” with extremely hot air masses, is currently centered over France. In the second half of the week, the record-breaking June heat here will intensify further—especially on Thursday and Friday. The center of the omega high is gradually shifting more and more in our direction. The sun will mostly set the tone, and even brief heat thunderstorms are unlikely at that time. This heat wave could even set new temperature records for June. This coming weekend will remain extremely warm to hot, though the air will become more humid. As a result, the likelihood of thunderstorms will increase.
