One valley, plenty of ways to get around
From your accommodation to the cable car stations in the morning, then on to the next destination in the afternoon: Many journeys around Galtür, Ischgl, Kappl and See are easy to make without your own car. Bus 260 runs all year round from Landeck-Zams railway station through the Paznaun valley to Galtür-Wirl, connecting all four holiday villages.
In winter, ski buses and local shuttle services provide additional connections. During the warmer months, bus 260 serves as the summer bus, taking families, hikers and bikers to excursion destinations and starting points for tours. For destinations away from the bus routes, there are regional taxis, seasonal lodge taxis and floMOBIL EV carsharing. Cable cars provide access to slopes, hiking paths and mountain experiences at higher elevations.

Local and ski buses in winter
Pick up your skis, hop on and arrive at the valley station just a few stops later: The region’s ski and local bus services make getting to the ski area easy. They connect Kappl, See, Ischgl and Galtür, while additional services provide connections to the hamlets.
Travel on local and ski bus services between Landeck-Zams railway station and Galtür-Wirl is free of charge with winter sports equipment and a ski pass or a valid, personalised guest card issued by the Tourism Association Paznaun – Ischgl.

Summer bus in the Paznaun valley
The year-round bus 260 serves as the main summer bus in the Paznaun valley. With a valid, personalised guest card issued by the Tourism Association Paznaun – Ischgl, travel from Landeck-Zams railway station to Zeinis/Kops and Bielerhöhe is included. The Silvretta Card Premium extends the area of validity as far as St. Anton im Montafon.
Tip: If the relevant card is activated in the PIA holiday app, it is valid from the day of arrival. Ask your accommodation provider for further information.
Useful information about local transport
Winter sports equipment and luggage can be taken on board in accordance with the applicable conditions of carriage. For pushchairs, Verkehrsverbund Tirol (VVT) recommends a maximum width of 61 centimetres. Larger groups should register their journey in advance by phone or email.
Subject to availability, the summer bus can carry a total of up to five bikes or e-bikes free of charge. Passengers secure their bikes to the rear-mounted bike rack themselves. The cable cars also transport mountain bikes and e-bikes weighing up to 25 kilograms. This does not apply to e-bikes on the Zeinisbahn cable car.
Anyone travelling in a larger group can order a trailer for up to 16 bikes or e-bikes from Alpentaxi the day before. Bike transport from Partenen to Bielerhöhe is also available. Those who prefer to pedal themselves can reach Galtür, Ischgl, Kappl and See via the valley cycle path.
The online journey planner does not always indicate whether a low-floor bus is operating. Guests with limited mobility should therefore contact the bus operator in good time.
Dogs travel free of charge on Verkehrsverbund Tirol services. Small dogs must be carried, while larger dogs must be kept on a short lead and wear a bite-proof muzzle. Dogs may not occupy seats. When buses are particularly busy, restrictions on taking dogs on board may apply.
Tip: Muzzles are available from >Sport Walter in the municipal building in Galtür.
From the valley station back to your accommodation, out for dinner or on to an event: Regional taxis complement the bus services and take guests directly to their chosen destination. In summer, bookable lodge taxis also travel to selected mountain lodges. A trailer for up to 16 bikes or e-bikes can be ordered from Alpentaxi the day before.
floMOBIL EV carsharing vehicles are available at the multi-purpose building in Ischgl and in Kappl Dorf. To use them, you need to register with floMOBIL or have a mobility card, as well as a valid driving licence. After the journey, the vehicle must be returned to the same pick-up location.
In Galtür, public parking is available in the village centre as well as at the cable car stations in Wirl. Ischgl has outdoor parking at Silvretta car parks West and East and the Florianparkplatz. There is also the Silvretta Garage, the Parking Lounge at Silvretta Therme and the Floriangarage.
In Kappl, parking options include the short-stay parking zone at the municipal centre, the parking deck, the car park at the municipal centre and the Bergbahnen car park. See has more than 950 parking spaces close to the Medrigjochbahn valley station.
EV charging stations can be found throughout the Paznaun valley: at the Silvretta reservoir on Bielerhöhe, at the Arzthaus in Galtür and at several locations in Ischgl. In Kappl, locations include the cable car station, the village square, Schikönig/Luis Diner and Interhome. In See, EVs can be charged at the Shell petrol station and MPreis.
E-bikes can be charged at Kappl village square, Silvretta Therme and Vider Truja on the Idalp. A separate charging cable is required at Kappl village square. It is worth checking locations, rates and current availability before setting off.
There is no need to bring your own bike for a ride along the valley cycle path or a trip around the surrounding area. Many sports shops throughout the Paznaun valley offer bikes and e-bikes for rent. E-scooters are also available to rent from selected sports shops.
Alpine Skyway Ischgl – Samnaun
The Alpine Skyway connects Ischgl in Austria with Samnaun in Switzerland, turning the journey itself into a mountain experience. Two gondola lifts and three chairlifts cross the national border in both summer and winter, with sweeping views of the Silvretta mountains along the way.
Tip: With the Silvretta Card Premium, the Alpine Skyway can be used free of charge in summer. In winter, a separate Smuggler’s Ticket is available for pedestrians. It is worth checking the current operating times and ticket terms and conditions before travelling.
