The most important points at a glance



General rule & validity period of tests

In all accommodations, culinary establishments, leisure facilities and at events, the following applies:

  • Proof by means of immunisation passport, immunisation card or print-out
  • As of the 22nd day after the first vaccination (must not be more than 3 months ago)
  • From the second vaccination (must not be more than 9 months ago)
  • As of the 22nd day after vaccination with vaccine requiring only one jab (must not be more than 9 months ago)
  • Vaccination valid immediately if a positive COVID-test was completed at least 21 days before vaccination, or a positive antibody test immediately before vaccination (The vaccination must not be more than 9 months ago)
  • Negative PCR-Test (validity: 72 hours)
  • Negative antigen test from test centre, physician, pharmacy, etc. (validity: 48 hours); For foreign guests, antigen tests from a physician or the pharmacy are not free!
  • Negative antigen test for self-administration (self-test), recorded in an official data processing system (validity under supervision of an authorised office: 48 hours; otherwise 24 hours).
  • Exempted from mandatory testing are vaccinated persons as of the 22nd day after first vaccination and recovered persons with a valid official letter. Furthermore, children under 10 years of age are also exempted from mandatory testing. To them, their parents’ status applies. As of 1 July, the requirement to present proof is to apply only for persons who are 12 years or older (Source: Federal Ministry for Social Affairs, Health, Care and Consumer Protection). 
  • Up to 6 months after end of the infection (proof: Isolation certificate, medical
  • confirmation)
  • Positive antibody test, no older than 3 months

Testing options in the region

In order to enter culinary establishments, accommodation providers, events and indoor leisure facilities, a negative Covid test or proof of vaccination or recovery are required until further notice. We’ll be happy to give you a summary of the testing options in our region here. 

  • Establishments that are registered as an “authorised location” with the Region of Tyrol, can verify the self-tests in their premises and transfer the results into the system. This test is valid for 48 hours. Guests will receive the test result via SMS or email.
  • Establishments not registered as “authorised location” also offer free tests. These must be carried out by the guest him/herself and uploaded via The test result will be sent by SMS or email and is valid for 24 hours.
  • Please ask your accommodation provider directly whether they are registered as an authorised location or not.

Another free testing option (antigen test: Valid 48h) is available at the official screening roads of the Region of Tyrol (the nearest is in Zams). To register, please visit the site of Tirol tests.
