Bouldering and climbing in the Paznaun region

One of the best ways to truly get “in touch” with the Paznaun is to feel the primary rock of the Tyrolean mountains beneath your fingers – for instance during bouldering at Silvapark. The region surrounding Galtür, Ischgl, Kappl and See is popular with outdoor enthusiasts who love via ferratas and bouldering.

And that’s no surprise: The varied landscape and breathtaking views of the surrounding three-thousand-metre summits make climbing and bouldering in the Paznaun an exquisite pleasure.

One of the region’s highlights is the extensive boulder area at Silvapark in Galtür. Tyrol’s largest natural rock boulder arena was made accessible by bouldering pioneer Bernd Zangerl. It features 175 different routes and is perfect for beginners as well as experienced climbers.

With a boulder area of 98 square meters and a wall height of 14.6 meters, fun is guaranteed! Alternatively, you can fine-tune your technique at the boulder hall at Alpinarium Galtür .

More experienced athletes can try ice climbing.

Time for a break: Discover the region’s mountain huts

Ambitious mountaineers or little bouldering first-timer: At some point, all of them need to eat something! After all, savouring a delicious snack is the perfect way to recharge your batteries for the next stage of your climb.

Luckily, the Paznaun is full of ideal spots for enjoyable breaks – for instance at the region’s many mountain huts and Alpine pastures. How about rewarding yourself with a tasty “Brettljause” snack platter or a fluffy “Germknödel”? There’s no better way to plan your next climbing adventure than while feasting on traditional delicacies!
